Diamonds in the dew F, C, Em, Am cycle
Is what I feel to you
Your wrists I laughing hold
As you do lightly scold
With gold I tie you up
And I do beg you sup
Of me you lovingly partake
As I your shoulders take
Diamonds in the dust
A subtle shade of rust
I see in the twighlight’s mottled wings
We dream of many things
The joy that true love brings
The joy that true love brings
Diamonds in your hair
The magic that you wear
All about you so soft
The lightness of touch you oft convey
Doth lead me through the day and
As the eve draws near
Brings me to your ear
To whisper honours dear
To whisper honours dear
Diamonds in the dark
Awake me to your spark
I love everything thou art
I love everything thou art
I love everything you are.

Golden Tree by © Jelila 2006. Al Rights Reserved
Under the golden tree I sing
I raise my arms, the joy I bring
You raise your arms the people call
All full of joy they’re in your thrall
You called them in, called them here, my Golden King.
There’s a cheer, I raise my arms, start to sing
A pin drops in the fairy ring
I spin, I raise a golden cup to God’s lips
He drinks and smiles, sips
And we all sip
We raise a thousand golden cups and sip
God comes in, we smile and sing,
Smile and sing.
A golden song of love and joy,
About a girl and boy who ate the golden apple,
Remembered the story of who they are, Woke up to who they really are. Came home to who they really are
Woke up
the castle,
woke up the
castle, the keep,
from sleep Magical
kingdom with golden doors,
Magical castle with golden floors
I meet you there You meet me there
I crown you, you crown me Everyone says ‘they’re golden, they’re golden, and so are we!’
We all are golden, we all are golden, we all are golden, beholden to no-one but ourselves.
We all are golden, we all are golden, we all are golden, beholden to no-one but ourselves.
Golden, we are all golden, we sing,
Golden children play, it rains golden rain today, golden clouds and sky. the sea is golden, the sky, the trees, the birds, the grass, the paths, everything.
All is golden,
you and I, A tear o joy is in your
eye, it’s golden, golden, a
golden bird flies by,
a golden feather falls and
we wipe tears dry, we wipe
tears dry.
We are all golden We are all golden We are all golden
We are all golden Love is golden
Love is golden
Under the golden tree
You and me
Love is what we sing
Love is what we bring
Under the Golden Tree
Praise be! Praise be! Praise be! Praise be! Love is everything!
Love! Love!

You show me my gold
Throw open the treasure trove
Inside I find my gold!
Glinting, glinting
A stash so bright
All golden and glittering.
Diamonds bright
So brilliant so white
Rubies richly red and sapphires pure
Golden ropes of style demure
Sunshiney rings and
Crowns of dappled gold
All lovely things that doth my heart behold.
Chorus
Treasure trove
Throw of the lid
Treasure trove
Inside me it hid
Treasure trove
Buried treasure
Inside me I hold
Buried treasure
Lead into gold
A treasure trove that’s mine all mine!
In my own chest it hid all the time
My very own treasure is my light divine
My very own treasure is my own light divine
Thankyou for helping me find it through your reflection fine!
In your mirror I first did see it shine
In your mirror I first did see it shine
You showed me my gold now I will show thee thine.
You showed me my gold now I will show thee thine.

The King's Death

The King’s Death by Jelila © 2006. All Rights Reserved.
In a golden tent
The King did lie
His leg up on a stool
Golden armour waiting
By, all unstrapped
My Mary did hold him and
Tend his eye and leg
With soft anointment
Of her herbes and tie him with
Her cloth
And give him rest.
From a golded bottle she did have him sup
An spread pasted ointment on him from a cup
And stayed him as he didst struggle to sit up.
The King gasped, and all around gave a shout
He breathed his last and blood all gush’ed out
Mary ran to him with a clout
And softly spake his name as his spirit did out
And softly spake his name as his spirit did out.
All quiet all around
His sword a lying on the ground
The crowd all silent weeping the only sound
And Mary crying as she her healings found
And Mary crying with a friendly arm her shoulders round.
The pace was slow
The solders walked full swell
And spake full proud of how the King did live
And as the loud honour of a bell did ring
To Mary the Queen a small gold coin of thanks did give.
To Mary the Queen a small gold coin of thanks did give.
Chorus
My love she gives presents
Not of cloth so fine or gold
My love she gives gifts of herbes and wine that healing bring
That do fair healing bring
Fit for a beggar or a king
Fit for a beggar or a king

A Pure Heart
By © Jelila 2006, All rights Reserved.
I sung a song, I played a rhyme
I told a tale of magical times
and all the beasts and the birds and the kine
Gathered around for leagues and for miles
Mary was lovely, truly so fair
Flowing locks of cascading hair
a long red dress and shoulders bare
oh! How I loved my lady fair
I sung her songs of dates and wine
I spun a tale of cherries fine
I twined her hair like golden vine
I kissed her throat and hands so fine
and begged her, now would you be mine?
Her soft blue eyes answered 'yes'
a silent vow from my mistress
but oh listen to what happened next
her father found us to much distress
her father found us to much distress
He took his bow from off the wall
and shouted I was no good at all
his raging eyes held me in thrall
and I backed away from out the hall
I backed away against the wall
That night I slept and dreamed of her
her father raged 'that stinking cur'
no! She cried as he threw on his fur
and ran out into the night crying to her
and ran out into the night crying to her
He set the fire I did not wake
with kindling large black smoke did make
though the windows shook and the beams did break
after that I did not awake
and the fish of the streams did attend my wake
and the deer and the owls did attend my wake.
Her face was white they tolled the bell
four candles tall in the fairy dell
did stand me guard and my sad story tell
she threw herself into the well. she threw herself into the well
---
This tale it was told to me
by my lovely bride to be
we were sad apart for centuries
And she came to me through Jeffery She spoke to me through Jeffery
so now I know a part of me
magical bard of the 5th century
who had tales to weave and magic to sing
but ne'er did wear a wedding ring
but ne'er did wear a wedding ring
Her father is sorry he knows he did wrong
And I forgive him though my heart is strong
For my heart did break and I suffered so long
he took away my love and my song
he took away my love and my song
CHORUS
Oh Mary, I loved you so well
Oh Mary A pure heart
Oh Mary I loved you so well
Oh Mary The purest of bells.

The Courtroom of the King by © Jelila 2006. All Rights Reserved.
The Courtroom of the King
Was gilded bright gold and purple
He sat with sages on a couch of tapestry and turtle
Peacocks crying in the yard
I sung my heart I swear I never sang so hard!
I sang of warriors
fighting in the sand
I sang of mighty battles for the land
Of our forefathers
I spun a story - made him understand that a poor lute boy could before the king’s gaze stand
And offer something special and so grand.
Oh Mary! It was the grandest day!
Huntsmen did come to guide the way
Monks stood in lines and I did see them pray
And trumpeters with ensigns did bugle a loud hollay!
They led me to the palace’s guilded gates so golden
Encrusted with pearls and weights
of spun gold drapes at the windows
a golden path a golden lake and swans
oh it was the very ones of ones I ever seen!
And all the time I didst think of your eyes
Trying to settle and make sure I be wise
Singing my songs the bestest guise
Showing myself in the bestest guise
And lo the King did come and princes too,
All train’ed golden, ermine enfolded
High crowns all golded
Diamonds too and rubies on their fingers !
The smell of roasted haunch and smoke did linger
in the great halls and
Tapestries bold and fine did decorate the walls.
And the King came close to me he spake
And I – full in my britches quake though did not let on and my voice not break,
Answered ‘what is your pleasure Sir what song would you have me make?’
He raised an eyebrow smiled and said ‘the golden one’ and ‘make it good or off with your head!’ – no only kidding – I added that –
He said I was right fine and spake kindly with hands gently spread.
My lute I spun and sung my golden song
The peacocks cried, turned golden,
And everyone fell silent jaw open
Until I was done then burst out clapping proudly, and crying
‘well done, well done!’
I was right proud I can tell you and did say so, my eyes did brightly shine with a tear glow and they did have me sing again, again
Until the lanterns show
They did have me sing again until the lanterns glow.
Oh Mary! I sang it for you
Oh Mary! what would you have me do?
All my life I sing for you
In the court of Kings I sing for you
I kneel at your feet and sing for you
I kneel at your feet and sing my love for you.

My love so pure
My love so pure and true
My love so pure
As heaven’s manna dew
My love so sweet
My love so sweet and soft
My heart doth sing
To see you walk aloft.
My love so clear
My love so clear and strong
I love you Mary dear
In honour and in song
My love so dark
My love so dark and soft
Doth entreat the very night
To honey us in troth.
